How do I sell items on Auction Zone?
Listing items to sell on Auction Zone is 100% FREE, when you have no special features associated to the listing.
To sell an item click on the ‘Sell an Item’ link. You will be prompted to enter your User Name and Password if you are not already logged in. Now you need to enter details on the Sell Item form describing the item. Once you have entered the item details and have submitted, you will be asked to confirm that the details are correct before the auction is listed. You can select from various options when selling an item which are covered below.
Auction Types:
Standard Auction – An auction that simply allows an item to go up in value as bids are placed on it, until the auction ends.
Discount Auction – An auction where the item price goes down 5% every 24 hours. The seller can set the maximum discount from 5% to 90% discount. When a bid is placed then the discounting stops, and the Discount Auction becomes a Standard Auction for 24 hours until the auction ends giving time for other bidders to bid.
If there are NO bids placed after 24 hours of the item price equaling the maximum discount it was listed for, the Discount Auction becomes a Standard Auction for 24 hours until the auction ends.
With this type of auction, it is important that you calculate the maximum discount your willing to let your item drop down too, as it is possible to sell an item with a whopping 90% off the starting price if you list the auction at 90% Discount. Keep in mind, it would take 18 days for an item to reach a 90% discounted price.
Example: If you list an item as a 25% Discount Auction for a $100 item, the price will drop down to $75 over a 5 day period.
Discount Auctions differ in that for every 5% discount you allow equals one day duration, plus when the item has a bid on it or it is on its final discount, there becomes a set 24 hours before the auction will end.
Dutch Auction – A Dutch auction allows the seller to sell multiple quantities of an item to multiple buyers. For example, you list 3 identical books to be sold separately. Buyer One bids $10 on 3 books, Buyer Two bids $12 on 1 book. At the end of this Dutch auction, Buyer Two will receive 1 book, and Buyer One will receive 2 books as the highest bids win. Buyer One will not win the other 1 book they placed a bid on.
Buy Now (option) – A Buy Now option can be used in conjunction with both Standard and Discount auctions, it cannot be used with a Dutch Auction. Buy Now allows an item to have a Set Price and when NO bids are placed on an item, the buyer can buy the item immediately at the Buy Now price thus ending the auction immediately. The Buy Now price MUST be equal to or higher than the starting bid price when listing the item.
Auction Duration
Auctions can have different durations based on sellers preference.
You can set up your auction durations as: 1,2,3,5,7,10,14 or 21 days.
Auction Fees
For all Fees for Listing or Selling items on Auction Zone, go to the "Fees & Payments" section of help for full details.
Extra Auction Features
When listing your Auction you can consider making it stand out more through paying for Extra Features such as: Bold, Highlighted, Home Page Featured Item, Category Page Featured Item or by adding extra pictures. Fees will apply for these additions.
Also consider using Reserve Price on your auction if there is a minimum price that must be reached for the item to sell. Reserve Price is not valid with a Dutch Auction. Fee will apply for Reserve Price listing.
UPON A SALE
It is up to both the buyer and seller to contact each other when an item has sold, so the transaction can be progressed to completion. Please check your email for transaction details.

What about relisting items?
There is both Automatic Auction relisting and manually relisting an item.
Automatic Auction Relisting (NO relisting fees applicable):
When listing your item for sale an option exists to have your item automatically relisted up to 10 times and its 100% FREE. This feature is only applicable until the item is sold.
Manual Auction Relisting
If your auction is no longer auto relisting (see above) or it was not setup for auto relisting, or you simply want to relist an older item you had previously listed within the last 3 months whether it sold or not, you can go into your ‘My Control Panel’, then ‘Closed Auctions’ once you’ve logged in, and manually relist your item. A fee will be charged if there are any ‘Extra Features’ associated with the item. (This is FREE for now, though will be charged in the future as it is classed as a New Auction).
LIMITATION: There is a small limitation in that when you manually relist an auction from your control panel, it will not include any gallery pictures you may have previously had. You will need to create a new auction 'Sell an Item' to add the gallery again.
